AnchorTrakk

โ“ Help & FAQ

In-depth walkthroughs of every part of AnchorTrakk. Click a question to expand it โ€” nothing here requires you to be signed in to read.

๐ŸŒฑ Getting started

What's a "billing period," and why isn't it just the calendar month?

AnchorTrakk tracks money in billing periods instead of calendar months, because most people's pay cycle doesn't line up with the 1st of the month. By default a period runs from the 1st to the last day of the month, but in Settings you can change "Month starts on day" to whatever day your salary actually lands on โ€” say the 25th โ€” and every period from then on runs the 25th through the 24th of the next month instead.

Everything in the app (income, debts, gifts, budgets, the daily log) is filed into whichever period its date falls into, using that start day.

How do I move between months?

Right under the top summary cards is a month picker: a "โ€น" and "โ€บ" arrow on either side of a dropdown showing the current month and year. Click the dropdown to jump straight to any tracked month, or use the arrows to step one at a time. A colored dot next to each month shows its status โ€” grey means nothing's checked off yet, gold means it's partly done, green means every item in it is fully checked.

At the bottom of that same dropdown is a "+ Add [next month]" option, which appends a brand-new, empty month right after your most recent one.

Signing in always takes you straight to whichever month you're actually in (by today's date), not always back to the first month you ever tracked.

Does anything ever get deleted or reset when a new month starts?

No โ€” that's the whole idea behind AnchorTrakk. It's one continuous log, not a fresh sheet every month. Recurring income and debts you've already added simply carry forward; what resets is only which checkboxes are ticked, since a new month's payments haven't happened yet.

How do I search for something, and can I narrow down the results?

The search box on the Overview tab matches against everything you've ever logged โ€” income, debts, gifts, and expenses โ€” by name. Next to it, an "โš™๏ธ Filters" button narrows results further by date range, a minimum/maximum amount, or which kinds to include, instead of only a plain text match.

๐Ÿ’ธ Income

How do I add a source of income?

On the Income tab, use the "Add a source" box near the top: type a name (e.g. "Salary" or "Side gig retainer") and an amount, then hit Add. It appears as a checklist item every month from then on โ€” tick it once that income actually arrives.

What's the difference between regular income and "extra / windfall income"?

Regular income is something you expect every month (a salary, a retainer) and shows up as a repeating checklist item. Extra income is a one-off โ€” a refund, a gift you received, a freelance payout โ€” logged with its own date, in the "๐Ÿพ Extra / windfall income" section further down the Income tab. It still counts toward your totals, but it isn't expected to repeat next month.

๐Ÿ’ณ Debts

How do I add a debt or loan?

On the Debts tab, fill in the "Add a debt/payment" box: a name, the amount due each month, and how many months it runs for. AnchorTrakk then adds one checklist instalment to each of those months automatically, labeled "Month 1 of 6," "Month 2 of 6," and so on, so you always know how far along you are.

What's the "๐Ÿ Payoff plan," and what can I do from it?

The Payoff plan groups every instalment by debt and shows each one as a boss-style health bar: how much has been repaid, how much is left, and when the last payment is due. From there you can:

  • Pay extra โ€” put down more than a single instalment; it knocks months off the end instead of just prepaying the next one.
  • Clear it all โ€” pay off everything remaining on that debt in one go.
  • Edit total โ€” correct the overall amount owed if it changes.
  • Skip [month] โ€” already paid โ€” mark next month's instalment as handled without touching the current month, for when you've paid ahead.

Once a debt is fully cleared, a "Hide cleared" link appears so old, finished debts don't clutter the list.

Can I pick a payoff strategy, like Snowball or Avalanche?

Yes โ€” above the payoff list, three buttons let you pick how AnchorTrakk prioritizes multiple debts: "๐Ÿง˜ My own pace" (no suggested order โ€” the default, exactly as before), "โ›„ Snowball" (pay every debt's minimum, then throw whatever's extra at your smallest remaining balance first, for quick motivational wins), or "โšก Avalanche" (the same idea, but targeting your highest interest rate first, for the cheapest route overall).

Give a debt an optional interest rate (a small field on its row) to get the most out of either strategy. Once one is picked, the list reorders itself with a badge on whichever debt to focus on first, and shows roughly how many months sooner you'd be debt-free by rolling payments forward versus paying each debt separately.

My "days until debt-free" countdown โ€” what is it counting down to?

It's the date of the very last instalment on your longest-running unpaid debt. As you pay debts off (especially with "Pay extra" or "Clear it all"), that date moves closer and the countdown shrinks. Once every debt is cleared, it reads "Cleared ๐ŸŽ‰" instead.

๐ŸŽ Gifts

How do gift goals work?

A gift goal is money you set aside gradually for something you'll buy on a specific future date โ€” a birthday present, a holiday gift. When you create one, you give it a total cost, how many months you want to spread it over, and a target month. AnchorTrakk then splits the total evenly and adds a small checklist deduction to each of those lead-up months, so you're not hit with the full cost all at once.

Once the target month actually arrives, the goal disappears from the monthly deduction checklist โ€” because that's when it's assumed you've actually bought the gift.

Where do I see gift goals I've already finished?

The Gifts tab's "Gift goals" list keeps every goal you've ever created, including ones whose target month has already passed. If that list is getting long, click "Hide past" to tuck away anything already bought โ€” the count next to "Show past (n)" tells you how many are hidden, and clicking it again brings them all back. Nothing is ever deleted by hiding it.

Where can I see my total gift spending?

The Overview tab has a "Total gifts this month" card showing what's committed for the month you're viewing, and the top bar (visible from any tab) has a running "๐ŸŽ Total gifts" total โ€” everything you've actually checked off as set aside, across every month you've ever tracked.

๐Ÿท Savings

What's the difference between the free-form savings ledger and "savings apps"?

The ledger (bottom of the Savings tab) is for logging one-off top-ups in any amount, whenever you like โ€” "Emergency fund top-up, โ‚ฆ20,000," for example. Each entry locks for 3 months from the month you add it, so "just this once" can't touch it right away.

Savings apps (Piggyvest, Cowrywise, Kuda, or whatever you actually use) are running accounts that carry a balance forward month to month, the same way a real savings app would. Set this month's top-up for each one and tick it once it's actually gone in โ€” next month's opening balance picks up right where this month left off.

Why is my savings amount "locked," and when does it unlock?

Every ledger entry locks for exactly 3 months from the month it was added, shown right on the entry itself ("๐Ÿ”’ locked until [month]" or "โœ… unlocked since [month]"). It's a soft commitment device โ€” the money is still yours, but the app keeps it out of your spendable "cumulative balance" figure until the lock lifts, so a moment of temptation doesn't wipe out savings you meant to keep.

Where do I see how much I've saved overall?

The Overview tab shows "Total savings this month" (the ledger entries and app top-ups you've actually ticked this month), plus a "๐ŸŒป Savings goal" progress bar and "% of balance saved" figure on the Savings tab itself. The top bar's "๐Ÿท Total savings" chip adds up everything โ€” ledger plus every savings app's balance โ€” across every month you've tracked, visible from any tab.

๐Ÿ’น Investments

How do I add an investment, and how are gains calculated?

On the Investments tab, fill in the "Add" box: a type (stock, mutual fund, shares, commercial paper, treasury bill, crypto), a name/ticker, the units you hold (leave it at 1 for a lump-sum instrument like a T-bill), and the total cost basis โ€” what you actually paid. AnchorTrakk doesn't pull live prices; instead, whenever you check your holding, log today's price per unit and your gain/(loss) updates off that most-recently-logged price, same philosophy as everything else in the app โ€” no price logged yet just means zero gain shown until you log one.

Can a holding be priced in a different currency?

Yes โ€” the "Add" box has its own currency picker, same as Income, Debts, Gifts and Savings accounts. Cost basis, every logged price, and gain/(loss) all show in that holding's own currency on its row, with a small badge if it isn't your primary one. Totals (the Investments tab's own head card, Net worth, the top-bar "Total investments"/"Net worth" chips, and the Overview "Investments this month" card) convert it to your primary currency using the rate set in Settings โ†’ "๐ŸŒ Currency rates."

What does "Investments this month" on the Overview page mean?

It's the cost basis of whichever holdings were first added while you had that month open โ€” new money put in, not a value change. Investments don't otherwise have a built-in sense of "month" the way income or debts do (a holding is just one ongoing position), so this card only reflects new holdings, not price movements on ones you already had.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Net worth

What does the Net Worth tab add up?

Your cumulative cash balance (income received minus debts, living expenses and gifts, across every month), plus everything in savings (the ledger and every savings app, converted to your primary currency), plus the current value of every investment, plus any manually-added asset (a property, a vehicle) โ€” minus whatever's still outstanding on your debts. It's also mirrored in the "๐Ÿ“ˆ Net worth" chip in the top bar, visible from any tab.

Can I see how my net worth, income, expenses, or savings have trended over time, not just this month?

Yes โ€” the Net Worth tab has four small trend charts (net worth, income, expenses, and savings) plotted across every month you've tracked, with the exact figure for each point on hover. The month-by-month net worth list underneath still has the precise numbers too.

๐Ÿ  Living expenses

How do I log a daily expense?

On the Expenses tab, look for the "โž• Add an expense to the daily log" box: pick a date and category, type what it was for, enter the amount, and hit Add. It's filed into whichever category and billing period that date falls into, and shows up in the "Daily log" list below, grouped by day.

How do categories and budgets work?

Click "Categories & budget" to expand it (it starts collapsed to keep the page tidy). From there you can add your own categories and set a budget for each โ€” but note that a budget only applies to the billing period you're currently viewing, so you can set a tighter or looser budget for a specific month without it affecting any other month.

The "By category, this billing period" chart (also collapsed by default โ€” click it to expand) shows a bar per category: green while you're under budget, orange once you go over.

What's the "๐Ÿ’ฐ Monthly budget plan," and what does "Rollover" do?

The Monthly budget plan card lays your expected income for the month against everything already spoken for โ€” living expense budgets, debt instalments due, and gift contributions due โ€” down to what's still unassigned.

Turning on "Rollover" for a category (in "Categories & budget," right next to its budget field) carries over whatever's left unspent โ€” or overspent โ€” in that category at the end of the period into next period's budget, instead of resetting to the same flat number every time. Leave it off for a category you'd rather keep at a fixed budget no matter what happened last period.

Can I hide my expense history from view?

Yes โ€” click "๐Ÿ™ˆ Hide daily log" above the daily log list to collapse every entry into a placeholder message, handy if someone's looking over your shoulder. Click "๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Show daily log" to bring it back exactly as it was, including which days were expanded. This is separate from the app-wide "Hide data" button described below.

Can I edit or delete several daily log entries at once?

Yes โ€” each entry in the daily log has its own checkbox. Select more than one and a bar appears at the bottom of the list letting you recategorize or delete everything selected in one tap, instead of handling entries one at a time.

๐ŸŒŸ XP, levels & achievements

How do I earn XP and level up?

Every checklist item you tick off (income received, a debt payment, a gift deduction) is worth 10 XP. Unlocking an achievement badge is worth 50 XP. Levels cost more the higher you go โ€” on the default AnchorTrakk Mode pace, level 1โ†’2 takes 150 XP, level 2โ†’3 takes 300, level 3โ†’4 takes 450, and so on (each level costs 150 more than the last) โ€” so leveling stays meaningful over months of use instead of mostly happening in the first few weeks. The XP bar on the Overview tab and the dedicated XP tab both show your progress toward the next one.

Can I make leveling faster or slower?

Yes โ€” Settings โ†’ "๐ŸŽฎ XP & achievements" has a "Leveling pace" picker with three options: Easy (levels cost less XP, so they come faster), AnchorTrakk Mode (the default, described above), and Hard (levels cost noticeably more). Switching only changes how much XP a level needs โ€” it doesn't change how much XP you earn per item/badge, or which achievements exist, so it can't be used to unlock badges early.

What are the achievement badges, and can I lose one once I've earned it?

The XP tab lists every achievement AnchorTrakk tracks, grouped into ten categories โ€” Checklist Progress, Savings, Debt, Gifts, Budget & Balance, Extra Income, Tools & Habits, Streaks, Level, and Longevity โ€” each with 10 or more tiers to work through, from an easy first step up to milestones meant to take months or years to reach (5,000 items checked off all-time, a 1,000-day streak, tracking for a decade) โ€” and the ladders never actually end: once you clear the last built-in tier, AnchorTrakk automatically adds the next one (bigger savings and debt paydown, more items checked off, longer streaks, higher levels, more months tracked...), showing your earned ones plus the single next goal in each ladder, so there's always something left to reach. Most, once earned, are permanent. A few (like "Budget Boss," which reflects your current budget status) can go back to locked if the underlying condition stops being true later โ€” but the XP they already paid out when you first earned them stays banked either way.

Can I hide the achievements I've already earned on the XP tab?

Yes โ€” tap "Hide earned" next to the "All achievements" heading on the ๐ŸŒŸ XP tab to show only the ones still left to unlock (the button then reads "Show earned" with your count). It's just a view preference saved on this device; your XP, level, and earned badges don't change, and the Overview tab is unaffected.

Why don't I see all the achievement icons on the Overview tab anymore?

With 100+ achievements now available, showing every locked one on Overview turned into a long wall of greyed-out icons. Overview now only shows the ones you've actually earned โ€” hover or tap one to see its name. To see everything, including what's still locked and what it takes to unlock it, visit the dedicated ๐ŸŒŸ XP tab, which groups the full list by category.

What are the weekly and monthly mini-quests?

The Overview tab has a small quests card with one weekly and one monthly goal โ€” things like logging a certain number of expenses, or making a savings top-up โ€” each worth bonus XP on top of whatever you'd already earn from the items themselves. They reroll on their own schedule, so there's always a fresh one to aim for.

What's the shareable milestone card?

Fully clearing a debt or hitting a savings goal offers a downloadable, shareable image card celebrating it. It won't appear while "๐Ÿ™ˆ Hide data" privacy mode is on, since the card bakes your real amount right into the image โ€” showing it blurred wouldn't stop it still being downloadable or shareable with the real figure inside.

What's the trophy for "beating" a past month?

The "This month vs last month" panel on Overview also compares against the same month a year ago where that data exists, and awards a trophy if you beat it โ€” a second way to measure progress beyond just last month.

What's the second companion next to my pet?

A growing garden sits alongside your pet in the bottom-right corner and grows as your net worth does โ€” a second, slower-moving way to see progress at a glance.

What happens when I reach Level 100?

Level 100 unlocks Prestige: an option to reset back to Level 1 in exchange for a permanent crown marking that you've done it. Every badge, streak, and achievement you've already earned stays exactly as it was โ€” Prestige only resets your level and XP progress, as a way to keep leveling meaningful even after reaching the top.

๐Ÿ”” Notifications

What do notifications actually alert me about?

A daily reminder if you haven't logged anything yet that day, leveling up, unlocking an achievement, fully clearing a debt, a debt instalment due within 3 days, a living-expense category crossing 90%/100% of its budget, and โ€” if you've added a date of birth in Settings โ†’ Profile โ€” a "๐ŸŽ‚ Happy Birthday" shoutout on the day. Turn on push notifications from the ๐Ÿ”” button in Settings โ€” your browser will ask for notification permission the first time.

Do notifications still work if I close the app completely?

Yes, for most of them: the daily reminder, level-ups, debt-cleared alerts, and birthday shoutouts now reach you even with AnchorTrakk fully closed, but only once you've turned on push notifications from the ๐Ÿ”” button in Settings โ€” without that, there's genuinely nowhere for a closed-app notification to be delivered to. They're checked roughly every 15 minutes behind the scenes, so think of it as "instant-ish" rather than exact to the second, and both the daily reminder and the birthday check use your own device's timezone. Achievement-unlock notifications are the one exception โ€” those still only fire while the app is actually open. The birthday shoutout is a second exception in the other direction: it also fires instantly the moment you open the app on the day, whether or not push is turned on, in addition to (not instead of) the closed-app push version.

Where can I see notifications I might have missed?

The ๐Ÿ”” bell in the top bar, next to Undo/Redo, drops down to show your personal notification history โ€” level-ups, achievements, debt-cleared alerts, and reminders, newest first. This works whether or not you've ever turned on push notifications, since it's a log kept inside the app rather than something that depends on browser permission. A small badge on the bell shows how many are unread; opening the dropdown marks them all as read.

Why did an older notification disappear, and can I keep one around?

The dropdown only holds your 6 most recent notifications by default โ€” anything older clears automatically to keep the list useful rather than an ever-growing pile. If there's one you want to hold onto, tap ๐Ÿ“ on it to pin it; pinned notifications (marked ๐Ÿ“Œ) are exempt from that 6-notification limit and stick around no matter how many new ones arrive, until you unpin or delete them. Tap ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ on any notification, pinned or not, to delete it outright.

Can I turn off just one kind of notification, like the daily reminder, without losing the rest?

Yes โ€” Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ”” Notifications" has a separate checkbox for each kind: daily reminder, level up, debt cleared, bill due, budget alerts, birthday, and achievements & quests. Switch off whichever ones you don't want; the rest keep working exactly as before.

๐Ÿ” Security

What's the security PIN, and what does it actually protect?

Set it up from Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ” Security" โ†’ "๐Ÿ”ข Set up security PIN." It's short (6+ digits) and specific to this device. It's asked in four places:

  • Getting back in after AnchorTrakk auto signs you out from inactivity โ€” its original job, so you don't have to retype your full password every time on a device you already trust.
  • Right after a plain password sign-in, as one extra step before the tracker opens.
  • Clicking "๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Show data" to reveal anything hidden by "๐Ÿ™ˆ Hide data" mode.
  • Deleting any logged entry โ€” a debt, income source, gift goal, savings entry, investment, or expense.

None of this is forced on you: if you've never set up a PIN on a device, all four of these keep working exactly as they did before โ€” signing in just needs your password, and showing data or deleting something happens immediately with no extra prompt. It only starts gating those moments once you actually set one up. It doesn't replace your actual account password as what secures your account at the server โ€” think of it as an extra, device-level check standing between a short window of physical access to your unlocked device/browser and your real numbers, not a cryptographic second factor.

What's biometric unlock, and how is it different from the PIN?

Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ” Security" lets you set up biometric unlock โ€” Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a fingerprint reader โ€” as a faster alternative everywhere the security PIN is asked. It's set up separately on each device, since it's tied to that device's own hardware, and once configured it shows up on the "you were signed out, enter your PIN" screen, right on the sign-in page itself, and on every PIN prompt described below (finishing a sign-in, showing hidden data, deleting an entry) โ€” so even a normal fresh visit can skip typing a password.

Like the PIN, it's a check tied to a device you already trust, not a replacement for your actual account password.

What are "Trusted devices" and the "Recent activity" log?

Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ” Security" โ†’ "๐Ÿ’ป Trusted devices" lists every device that's ever signed in to your account. Forgetting one signs it out the next time it's opened โ€” handy if you signed in somewhere you no longer use or recognize.

"๐Ÿ“œ Recent activity" underneath it logs the last 30 sign-ins, PIN/biometric changes, and device removals, so you can check nothing unexpected has happened on your account.

๐Ÿ‘ค Profile

What can I add to my profile, and do I have to?

Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ‘ค Profile" has four optional fields โ€” first name, surname, username, and date of birth โ€” plus a profile photo or an icon you can pick from a small set of options. None of it is required to use AnchorTrakk. Filling in a first name personalizes your greeting to "Hi, [name]!" and shows your name or username in the top bar instead of "you"; adding a date of birth is what lets AnchorTrakk send you a birthday notification.

How do I upload a profile photo?

Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ‘ค Profile" โ†’ "๐Ÿ“ท Upload photo" โ€” pick any image from your device and AnchorTrakk automatically square-crops and shrinks it before uploading, so there's no need to resize anything yourself first. It replaces the emoji icon wherever your profile shows up. A "๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Remove photo" button switches back to picking an emoji icon instead, and picking a new emoji icon after uploading a photo swaps back to that, too โ€” it's always one or the other, never both.

Who can see my profile information?

Just you. It's stored the same way as the rest of your tracker data โ€” private to your own account โ€” and is never shown to anyone else or used for anything beyond personalizing your own greeting and sending your own birthday notification.

โš™๏ธ Settings & customization

What does the "๐Ÿ’พ Save changes" button at the top of Settings do?

Every setting on this page already saves and applies the instant you change it โ€” there's nothing waiting to be committed. The button is a clear, one-click way to confirm that ("โœ… Saved โ€” everything is synced"), and it also forces through anything still mid-save, like a checkbox you ticked on the tracker right before opening Settings.

Can I change my currency after I've already entered numbers?

Yes โ€” Settings' "Currency & billing period" section fetches a live exchange rate and rescales every amount already in the tracker to the new currency, so switching from $ to โ‚ฆ (for example) converts your existing numbers instead of just relabeling them.

Can a single income source, debt, gift, savings account or investment be in a different currency than everything else?

Yes โ€” an individual Income source, Debt/bill, Gift goal, Savings account, or Investment holding can each be tagged with its own currency, separate from your primary one. This is different from changing your primary currency above: it's for a specific item that's genuinely priced in another currency (a USD side-gig payment, a loan from an overseas lender, a UK gift, a dollar-denominated stock), while everything else stays in your usual currency. Pick it right where you add that item; every currency shares one shared rate, set once in Settings โ†’ "๐ŸŒ Currency rates" and reused everywhere that currency is tagged. The item's own row always shows its native amount and symbol; any total it feeds into (Overview, debt payoff, gift totals, Net worth, the top-bar chips) shows the converted sum in your primary currency.

What if my payday lands early or late just one month?

Next to the month picker at the top of the app is a "This month starts on" dropdown. It overrides the start day for whichever month you're currently viewing only, without touching your usual default everywhere else โ€” pick "Default" to go back to your normal start day for that month.

Does clicking the logo or "Help & FAQ" sign me out?

Yes โ€” tapping the ๐ŸŒฑ logo or "โ“ Help & FAQ" signs you out first and then takes you there, as a security measure. Sign back in anytime; nothing about your tracker data is affected. Going between the tracker and Settings (the gear icon / "๐Ÿก Back to tracker") is the one exception, since those two are really the same session and switching between them doesn't sign you out.

Why is everything blurred when I sign in?

Every figure, chip, and log entry across the app is blurred by default the moment you sign in โ€” no setup needed, and nothing to remember to turn on. Click "๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Show data" in the top bar whenever you want to actually see your numbers; click "๐Ÿ™ˆ Hide data" to blur it all again. This choice is just for the current visit and resets to hidden again the next time you sign in, so it can't accidentally stay switched off on a shared or public device.

This also covers your greeting banner at the top of the page and the ๐Ÿ”” bell's notification history, since both can mention a real amount in plain sentence text โ€” and the shareable milestone card (see the XP section above) is skipped entirely rather than shown blurred, since it would otherwise still be downloadable/shareable with the real figure baked in.

It's separate from (and in addition to) the daily-log-only hide toggle and the gift goals' "Hide past" toggle described above.

Can I change the color theme or turn on sounds?

Settings' "๐ŸŽจ Appearance" section has a full set of color themes, a pet companion you can swap, weather effects (Temperate: snow, autumn leaves, rain, thunderstorm, windy day, spring blossom, summer fireflies; Tropical: harmattan haze, tropical rain, sandstorm, sunny), a light/dark mode toggle, weather sounds, and sound effects โ€” mix and match whatever you like. Some of the themes are unlocked by reaching a level or a specific achievement (clearing your first debt, hitting your savings goal, and more) rather than available from day one โ€” a locked one shows a ๐Ÿ”’ and explains what it takes to unlock it.

What are weather sounds and sound effects, and how do I turn them on or off?

Settings โ†’ "๐ŸŽจ Appearance" has two sound toggles. "Weather sounds" (off by default) plays ambient audio that matches whichever weather effect you've picked โ€” rain and drips, rain with distant thunder for tropical rain, wind for snow, autumn and harmattan, birdsong for spring, cicadas and birds for summer, heavy rain and rolling thunder for thunderstorm, gusting wind for windy day, a gritty howl for sandstorm, and birds and crickets for sunny. Picking "None" as the weather means silence, and switching weather fades smoothly to the new sound. "Sound effects" (on by default) covers the tick sound when you check something off, a soft pop when you uncheck it, and a celebratory "good job" fanfare when you unlock an achievement or fully clear a debt. Both choices are remembered per device, and browsers only allow sound after you've tapped or clicked something, so after a reload weather sounds resume on your first tap.

Can I link a Spotify playlist to AnchorTrakk?

Yes โ€” Settings โ†’ "๐ŸŽต Spotify playlist" has a field for pasting a playlist link (copy it from Spotify via "Share โ†’ Copy link to playlist," or a spotify:playlist:... link works too). Once saved, a compact Spotify player embeds right on your Overview page. It's a simple public embed, so there's no Spotify account to connect or permission to grant โ€” but for that same reason, it only plays 30-second previews of each track unless you have Spotify Premium and are already logged into Spotify in the same browser, which is a limitation of Spotify's embed player itself, not something AnchorTrakk controls. Click "๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Remove" in Settings to take the player down again.

Can I choose which cards show in the top bar?

Yes โ€” Settings' "๐Ÿ“Œ Top bar cards" section (right below Appearance) has a checkbox for each card in the bar at the top of every page: the clock, the debt-free countdown, level, streak, still outstanding, this month's net, total savings, total gifts, total investments, and net worth. Uncheck any you don't want to see; nothing is deleted, and the choice follows you across devices since it's saved to your account, not just this one device.

Can I choose which tabs show in the nav bar, or put them in a different order?

Yes to both โ€” Settings' "๐Ÿ“‘ Visible tabs" section (just below "Top bar cards") has a checkbox for every tab except Overview and What's New, which always stay on. Turn off anything you don't use โ€” Investments or XP, say โ€” and it disappears from the nav bar; nothing is deleted, and it's back the moment you check it again. If you happen to have a now-hidden tab open when you turn it off, AnchorTrakk drops you back to Overview rather than leaving you on a page you can no longer navigate to.

The โ–ฒโ–ผ arrows next to each tab reorder the nav bar to match. Overview always leads and What's New always trails, so neither has arrows; XP stays fixed as the tab right before What's New too (no arrows on its row either), but every other tab can move freely around it.

Why does the โœจ What's New tab only show some updates, and what's the dot on its icon?

Only the 10 most recent updates show by default, so the tab stays quick to skim instead of turning into an ever-growing scroll. A "๐Ÿ”ฝ Show older updates" button at the bottom reveals everything else, still newest first; nothing is ever deleted, so click "๐Ÿ”ผ Hide older updates" any time to tuck them away again.

A small dot appears on the What's New tab whenever there's an update you haven't seen yet. Click "โœ… Mark all as read" at the top of the tab to clear it. The first time AnchorTrakk notices a new update, it also sends a one-time notification โ€” through the ๐Ÿ”” bell, and as a push if you've turned that on โ€” same as a level-up or an achievement.

๐Ÿ“ Import & export

Can I get my data out of AnchorTrakk?

Yes โ€” Settings' "๐Ÿ“ Data" section has an "๐Ÿ“ค Export" button that downloads everything in your tracker as a regular .xlsx workbook, openable in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app.

Can I bring existing data into AnchorTrakk, or start from a template?

The same "๐Ÿ“ Data" section has "๐Ÿ“ฅ Import" (loads a filled-in workbook, replacing what's currently in the tracker) and "๐Ÿ“„ Blank template" (downloads an empty workbook with the right sheets and columns already set up, ready to fill in and import back).

Can I import a bank statement instead of typing in my expenses and income by hand?

Yes โ€” this is a โœจ Premium feature. Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ“ Data" โ†’ "๐Ÿฆ Import a bank statement" reads a statement you've downloaded yourself from the OPay, Moniepoint, or Kuda app (Excel works best; .csv also works). Pick the bank, choose the file, and it's parsed right there in your browser โ€” nothing is uploaded anywhere, and there's no account linking or third-party service involved.

You get a preview of exactly what was found โ€” the date, description, and amount of each transaction โ€” before anything is added. Confirming turns every debit into a normal expense entry and every credit into an extra-income entry, each tagged with a default category you pick for the debits (recategorize them afterward from the Expenses tab's bulk-edit feature if you'd like something more specific). An "โ†ฉ๏ธ Undo this import" button appears right after, in case the wrong file was picked. Re-importing a statement that overlaps a previous one skips whatever it already added instead of duplicating it.

๐Ÿ’Ž Premium & billing

What does Premium cost, and what do I actually get?

โ‚ฆ3,500 a month. It unlocks: auto-updating FX rates, the Investments tab, Net Worth, tracking any item in a different currency, bank statement import, two exclusive themes plus dark mode, 7 exclusive pet companions and 6 exclusive weather effects (with matching sounds), a higher daily-log limit (300 entries instead of 100), and removes the free-tier limits on expense categories, savings accounts, debts, income sources and gift goals.

Anything you already have stays exactly as it is if you're on the free plan, or if a Premium month runs out โ€” these limits only stop you adding more, and losing Premium only stops you switching to something new, like a locked theme or pet; it never removes or hides what's already there.

How do I actually pay โ€” is there a card option, or automatic billing?

Not yet โ€” there's no card payment or automatic recurring billing of any kind. Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ’Ž Go Premium" shows AnchorTrakk's bank account each time; transfer โ‚ฆ3,500, then upload your receipt as proof from the same screen, same as the first time. A reminder shows up (in the ๐Ÿ”” bell, and as a push notification if you've turned those on) a few days before your current month runs out, and again if it actually does.

How long does it take to unlock after I pay, and what happens if I pay early?

Receipts are reviewed by hand, usually within a day. Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ’Ž Go Premium" shows your request's status (pending, approved, or not approved) the whole time, and the 30 days are added automatically the moment it's approved โ€” no need to sign out and back in. Paying before your current month actually runs out just adds the new 30 days on top of whatever's left, rather than restarting the clock from that day โ€” so renewing a few days early (or well ahead of time) never wastes anything.

What if my receipt isn't approved?

Settings โ†’ "๐Ÿ’Ž Go Premium" will show it wasn't approved, with a reason if one was given. You can submit a new receipt right from the same screen โ€” there's no limit on how many times you can try again.

What's the separate โ‚ฆ3,500 "Unlimited logs" add-on?

Premium raises the daily log's free 100-entry cap to 300 โ€” "Unlimited logs" is a one-time โ‚ฆ3,500 top-up, on top of Premium, that removes that cap entirely for good. It's only offered once an account already has Premium active, through the same "What are you paying for?" picker on the "๐Ÿ’Ž Go Premium" screen, and it stays unlocked even through a month where Premium itself lapses.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Installing AnchorTrakk as an app

How do I install AnchorTrakk on my phone or computer?

On Chrome, Edge, or Android, a "๐Ÿ“ฒ Install app" button appears automatically in Settings once your browser offers it โ€” click it to add a home-screen/desktop icon. On iPhone/iPad, Safari doesn't offer that same button; instead use the Share sheet and choose "Add to Home Screen."

Once installed, AnchorTrakk opens instantly, works offline for anything already loaded, and feels like a regular app rather than a browser tab.
